All work showcased in this project was executed during my tenure as a website designer at Unity Online. I spearheaded a brand refresh encompassing updated visual resources and messaging, enhancing the company’s identity and audience perception. Unity Online sought to maintain a competitive edge locally and attract larger clients by adopting a fresh look that incorporated current design trends and interactive features, aiming to create a more engaging and inspiring experience for potential customers.

As this was a brand refresh, we didn't want to stray too far from the original combination mark, so we experimented with the typeface, playing around with weight and color. Another significant improvement was updating the domain extension to .online, incorporating it into the logotype. This change aligned with the company name, making it memorable, SEO-friendly, and meaningful, providing a clear and strategic marketing edge. Unlike the previous logo mark, the new one is sleek and unites the letters U and O into a recognisable icon that can be used independently for smaller assets.
I studied Google's open-source design system for guidance on accessibility, interaction states, layout, icons, typography, and components such as tabs, sliders, and buttons. This provided a cohesive look and feel across the entire site and established a versatile framework for future website designs. I also redesigned the icons, creating a fresh set of marketing service icons specific to Unity Online. Additionally, I focused heavily on color contrast to ensure accessibility, enhancing the user experience for all visitors.
The redesign initiative extended beyond the website to encompass various aspects of Unity Online's brand ecosystem. We systematically updated assets across social media channels, pitch documents, presentations and email templates. This holistic approach ensured consistency and reinforced the new brand image across all touchpoints. By aligning these elements with the refreshed visual identity, Unity Online positioned itself more effectively in the market, enhancing both external perception and internal cohesion.
